Reporting a student's absence

Dear Cali Families:

This is a brief reminder on how best to inform your school of a student’s absence.

Please call  the attendance number at (707) 620-1731. 

If you don’t reach a person, please don’t hang up and call back.  Please leave a message and speak clearly and slowly, sharing:

• your name 

• the student’s full  name 

• the student’s grade level

• and the reason for the absence. 

As you can imagine, the vast majority of calls come in within the same small window of time daily, and it isn’t possible for every call to be answered by a person. Leaving a message on the attendance line is the best way to communicate an absence.

Absences can be texted to (707) 620-1731. Please provide the same information listed above: 

• your name 

• the student’s full  name 

• The student’s grade level

• and the reason for the absence.

If staff have any questions regarding an absence left on voicemail or texted, they will call you to discuss.

Absences can be emailed to sloza@wusd.org

In addition, doctor/dentist notes can also be emailed at  sloza@wusd.org
