Safe School Buddies (SSB)
The Safe School Buddies Program is a Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) initiative offered in partnership with Community Matters. It is designed to build kindness, empathy, and positive leadership skills in our youngest learners.
The program:

Is designed for students in grades 1–3

Equips Buddies with tools to promote kindness, respect for others, and positive peer leadership

Includes a strong literacy component that supports classroom literacy standards

Prepares students to be upstanders who help create a safe and inclusive school environment
The Safe School Buddies Program intentionally identifies and selects socially influential students from grades 1–3 and empowers them to use their leadership in positive, supportive ways.
